These three examples, I felt, were really great examples of flyers/ posters.
The first poster:
It makes Bloomsburg seem like a really great place to be in the winter. They have a girl smiling and she looks very friendly, this makes Bloomsburg seem very comforting.
Also, it has all the important information that you would need if you were thinking about doing a winter session. It uses the CRAP and the PAGE principles very well.

Contrast: The orange letters with the white snow in the background. Also, the red letters that match her scarf and white hat that matches snow
Repetition: The image of the snow repeats that it is a winter session. The three emails have bloomu and it has the Bloomsbug symbol on it
Alignment: All the words are perfectly lined up down the poster
Proximity: They put all of the contact info at the bottom together

Purpose: This flyer is trying to convince student to study at Bloomsburg over the winter session
Audience: This is for college student
Genre: poster/flyer
Engagement: It is supposed to make someone feel like they are in the winter session

The Second Poster:
I like this poster a lot because it uses pictures and bright colors.

Contrast: The white letters on the red background is a big contrast and on the black record
Repetition: Bloomsburg is on this poster three time. They want it to be known that this event is through Bloomsburg
Alignment: I really like how the O of Motown is right in the center of the record
Proximity: Again all the important information is at the bottom grouped together

Purpose: The purpose is to inform about Motown coming to Bloomsburg
Audience: This is too college students
Genre: poster/flyer
Engagement: It makes you want to go to this event

Third Poster:
This is my favorite posts of all three posters. This may be because I really love the colors. I drew on this to make my original poster but I had to
change it.

Contrast: The black background with the different rainbow colors is a great way to use contrast
Repetition: There is a pattern in the color scheme. They use the rainbow to show the days of the week
Alignment: I really like the use of step alignments because it causes the reader to read the whole thing
Proximity: The events that are happening in that day are grouped up with the day and the color that goes along with that day

Purpose: This poster is to inform about the events that are happening in PRIDE week
Audience: Students and Staff
Genre: It is a flyer/poster
Engagement: this is to get people involved in what is happening in the week

These three letters are very similar so I want to discuss them all together. The first letter I liked because it used bullet points to show important ideas. But, I thought that it had too much writing on it. A very busy employer is not going to the take the time to read that whole letter. I think that the second letter has the perfect amount of writing because it is long enough to give information but not too long. The thing that I like about all of these letter is that the name is really big at the top. If this were for a future employer, the most important thing is that you see their name,

Contrast: It is the black letters on the white paper. It's very clean looking
Repetition: There is the repeating of the names and information
Alignment: There are no indented paragraphs, but on the first and third letter they indent and bullet important ideas
Proximity: They put all their contact information together

Purpose: The purpose of this type of letter is to give information in a professional way
Audience: is a future employer of someone of importance
Genre: letter
Engagement: the employer feels that they are given important information in an professional maner

I used three very different kinds of satires to show that they are everywhere in society and they come in all different shapes and sizes

The first poster:
This one is funny because it is saying you can't post signs on public property even though it is a sign in public.

Contrast: The white background with the black letters and the red
Repetition: the picture is showing a line through a person posting a poster and also the words say not to hang up a poster
Alignment: the words are aligned within the boarders of the poster
Proximity: the words are grouped together

Purpose: to show people how silly some signs are
Audience: anyone walking by
Genre: flyer
Engagement: to make people think about what they are posting

The second picture:
This is a picture of the movie, Scary movie. There are about five of these movies and they are satires that make fun of any popular horror films.

Purpose: To show how ridiculous some of the horror movies can be
Audience: teens- adults
Genre: movie
Engagement: to make people laugh, it isn't meant to be taken seriously.

Youtube video:

This video is an infomercial about children playing with huge knives as toys

Purpose: I believe it has two purposes. The main purpose is too make fun of infomercials and how ridiculous they can be. The second underlying purpose is to show that toys are way too dangerous. I didn't pick up on this until i watched it for the second time. In the beginning, they were trying to open toy guns and then they got out their kids' knives.
Audience: This is directed towards adults because it is violent and it could give children a bad message
Genre: infomercial
Engagement: it is meant to make people laugh but at the same time it is supposed to make people think about whether toys are getting out of hand
